Authorities confirmed that Los Angeles has entrusted its entire justice system to Lt. Frank Drebin, a police detective whose greatest investigative skill is surviving mistakes that would instantly end any other human life. After stumbling into a plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II, Drebin heroically combats a criminal empire by crashing cars, destroying property, and accidentally assaulting innocent bystanders at an efficiency never before recorded. Experts say the conspiracy unravels mainly because the villains are somehow even less competent than the police assigned to stop them. Meanwhile, the city's taxpayers quietly absorb millions of dollars in collateral damage while Drebin falls in love with a woman who apparently finds repeated head trauma charming. Historians now classify The Naked Gun as a documentary about how most major institutions probably function behind closed doors.
